For most of us we spend at least 40 hours a week performing various job duties. Some jobs require heavy lifting and manual labor, repetitive movements, walking/standing for a long time, pushing/pulling objects, and sitting for long periods of time in front of a computer screen. Doing any of these activities for 40 hours a week can put much stress on the body. Unfortunately, injuries can develop from the wear and tear that is being put on the body while at work. At any moment work related accidents (i.e slip and fall, object falling onto body) could also happen which can cause acute trauma to your body.
At SportsCare Physical Therapy we will evaluate and assess you to address your work related injuries, including post-operative, to determine an appropriate treatment plan. In addition to a gross assessment including range of motion and strength testing, your licensed physical therapist will also evaluate your movement patterns/body mechanics and postural/work station position. Based on the evaluation an individualized treatment plan will be designed to reduce your pain, improve your motion and increase your strength to allow for optimal performance of your activities of daily living. The physical therapist will also work with you to modify and progress your program to ensure safe return to your occupational duties, including education on proper body mechanics, ergonomics and proper lifting techniques to prevent future work related injuries.
