Sports Medicine

Sports Medicine in NJ, NY & FL

SportsCare can provide the services of an Athletic Trainer on the field, court, ice, track etc. We are looking to provide these services in areas where an ATC is needed, but may not be provided, such as games, tournaments, events, camps, marathons, triathlons, recreational programs as well as club and travel team programs. We are able to provide these services out of our SportsCare van and mobile training room. This Sports Medicine Van is equipped with a treatment table, emergency supplies, AED, kinesio tapes, bandages, slings, braces, crutches, ice chest, Biodex concussion test, evaluation and screening tools. The van has a generator and is able to provide electric stimulation and use our Game Ready unit. The van is also WIFI hotspot providing a source of injury and health information.

At SportsCare Athletic Trainers are an important part of the care we provide. ATCs who work as part of the Sports Medicine program provide the immediate care and attention to any injuries one may sustain in the course of their chosen sport or activity. ATCs specialize in patient education and act as referral resources to help make sure injuries receive appropriate medical care. Our Athletic Trainers work with local high schools, colleges, adult recreational sports teams, running groups, youth programs, and even mixed martial arts gyms to help provide the initial medical care these populations might need. Our services include concussion testing and management, injury prevention screenings, as well as developing personalized exercise prescriptions and protocols to help keep participants healthy and active.

Another aspect to our Sports Medicine Program in NJ, NY & FL is injury prevention and concussion recognition. We will be able to perform a thorough screening for teams and groups of athletes. Through analyzing movements we can score each athlete and recognize those athletes that are at risk for injury. Our team of licensed and certified Physical Therapists and Athletic Trainers use the FMS, SFMA, and other tools to evaluate athletes, recognizing certain weakness, flexibility issues, body asymmetries, etc. We can then provide the teams and athletes with exercise and treatment recommendations to reduce injury rate as well as be able treat any injuries. We also will be able to lecture and teach coaches, parents, and athletes in concussion, injury prevention, body mechanics, and so on.
