Therapy at Gate River Run – SportsCare Institute, Inc., a leading network of physical therapy centers, recently sponsored the Gate River Run and Expo in Jacksonville.
The largest 15K race in the U.S., the event gave runners — including some U.S. Olympians — an opportunity to compete over a challenging course. But, a few also ended up with some aches and pains — and that’s where Sports Care’s physical therapists stepped in.
They staffed a triage tent that provided pre-race information, and then, as needed, post-race treatment. The most common therapy required was stretching assistance and icing, along with attention to past injuries that had recurred.
